Freedom Hunt is a nonprofit committed to honoring and supporting veterans and first responders by providing access to the outdoors, financial assistance, and lasting camaraderie.
Time in the field heals in ways that are hard to put into words. Through guided hunts, grants, and our annual Freedom Hunt event, we create meaningful experiences that bring people together, remove barriers, and give back to those who have given so much.

The men and women who serve our nation and our communities give so much. Freedom Hunt exists to give something back — not just a day in the field, but a genuine expression of gratitude and belonging.
- Veterans and first responders often face unique challenges readjusting to civilian life
- Time in nature and shared experiences support healing and well-being
- Community and recognition matter — these events remind those who served that they are not forgotten
- South Dakota’s wide-open spaces provide a powerful backdrop for reflection and renewal
Everything needed for the day is provided — so participants can focus on the experience, not the logistics.

"I was lucky enough to be selected to participate in a pheasant hunt in SD for disabled veterans. Truly a hunt of a lifetime for me. Thanks to Warriors never give up."
